Topic 1 - Digital Audio Workstation Level 1

(A really simple project made in Logic in 20 minutes to show that I know the basic concepts - interface, audio loops, bouncing, etc.)

 

Topic 2 - Loop-based Composition Level 2

(A basic 1-2 minute composed of loops, matched in key and BPM)

 

Level 1 is really simple. I know it. If I can do Level 2 ok, I know it.

 

Unit 1 Guided Reflection

Scoring:

1 = I have yet to understand this concept or skill

2 = I have some understanding of the concept, but need am not yet proficient

3 = I have a solid understanding of the material and consider myself proficient.

4 = I have gone way beyond the expectations and am close to mastery.  I could teach this to others I am so amazing.

 

CONTENT SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDINGS

3 I can open Logic Software and start a project with a blank audio track

3 I know where the inspector window is and how it is connected to each track.

3 I know how to use Apple Audio Loops

3 I know the location and use of  the Transport Bar

3 I can loop a sample over multiple measures via cursor drag

3 I can loop a sample over multiple measures using a copy function Opt. drag

3 I can use the scissors tool to cut audio files

3 I can use the fade cursor to fade in and out audio files

3 I can use the pointer tool to grab and move audio loops

3 I know the three fundamental instruments needed for a song - Bass, Drums, and Lead

STUDY SKILLS and TOOLS

3 I can make a screen shot of my logic project

3 I can make a folder on my desktop to store all my work.

3 I can clean off my desktop at the end of class

3 I take notes on new material

3 I can create a Jimdo eNotebook

3 I can format, alter and add content to the eNotebook

3 I can create a Box.com account to store my audio files

3 I can get the embed code from the audio file in Box.com and embed the code into my eNotebook to create an audio player with my file in it.

3 I can embed pictures, screenshots, and text.

 

LAB HABITS

3 I remember to log out of websites

3 I know to close all software at the end of class

3 I store headphones in appropriate location

3 I know to ask permission to add software or alter computer

3 I know to ask permission to leave the room

3 I know to ask to bring food or drink into lab

3 I know to ask to use a cell phone
